SHINTY

An integral part of local culture for visitors and locals alike.

Newtonmore’s proud tradition in the peculiarly Highland sport of Shinty can be experienced by all from March to October at the Eilan shinty field and pavilion at the south end of the village. Matches take place most Saturday afternoons throughout the season. Similar to hurling or hockey with very different rules! Someone will always be willing to explain.

£4 Admission - First Team Games including Raffle ticket for a bottle of Whisky! No gate admission for other games but donations welcome.
